THE ALCHEMY OF COMPANIONSHIP
A blend of rigorous ceramic artistry and deep personal narrative. Every MODCER sculpture journeys through eight precise stages of hand-refinement in our independent studio—transforming fragile clay into an everlasting form.
Our Handcrafted Ceramic Techniques

Ceramic sculpting craft
Our craftsmanship specializes in ceramic sculpture. Tracing its origins back to 583 AD during the Northern and Southern Dynasties, this artistic tradition culminated during the Song Dynasty with the creation of Yingqing (shadow-green) carved porcelain—celebrated for its exquisite elegance and translucent, jade-like quality.
Ceramic sculpture encompasses six core traditional techniques: sculpture in the round, openwork carving, relief applique, bas-relief, hand-pinching, and press-molding. Uniquely distinctive and entirely self-contained, this art form showcases a level of masterly craftsmanship that truly borders on the divine.
Product Manufacturing Process

01.Hand Sculpting & Shaping
Artisans meticulously sculpt raw clay into three-dimensional forms using specialized traditional techniques (such as sculpture in the round, openwork, or pinch-modeling), while precisely pre-calculating a 12%–15% clay shrinkage rate.
02. Trimming & Turning
Once the sculpted piece dries to a "leather-hard" state, it is mounted onto a wheel where specialized steel blades shave away excess clay, refining the contours and achieving a uniform, ultra-thin wall thickness.

03. Decorative Painting & Engraving
Master artists hand-paint intricate motifs directly onto the unfired body using natural mineral pigments—either through underglaze techniques (like classic Blue and White) or overglaze artistry—to endow the piece with its visual soul.
04. Glazing
A micro-thin layer of liquid glaze (typically 0.1mm–0.3mm) is evenly applied to the body via dipping, swirling, or precision spraying. Upon firing, this layer converts into a glass-like, jade-smooth protective shield.

05. High-Temperature Firin
The glazed pieces are subjected to intense kiln temperatures ranging from 1280°C to 1320°C. Rigorous control over the reduction or oxidation atmosphere triggers complete vitrification, unlocking the porcelain's ultimate strength and brilliant color depth.
Our Material

KAOLIN Clay
Kaolin, historically known as "china clay" from Jingdezhen, is the premium natural ingredient that transforms ordinary pottery into exquisite fine ceramics. It serves as the hidden "backbone" of our products, elevating standard clay into high-end, translucent, and radiant works of art.
Key Characteristics
- Extreme Heat Resistance: Withstands intense kiln temperatures, ensuring the porcelain never warps or loses its shape.
- Intricate Sculpting: Gives clay perfect workability, allowing master artisans to shape incredibly delicate and complex details.
- Vibrant Colors: Its flawless natural whiteness provides a pristine canvas that makes hand-painted designs look brilliant and clean.
