Every sculpture begins with clay and a set of photographs.An artist studies the shape of the head, body proportions, ears, posture, and markings before beginning to sculpt.
The form is shaped by hand.Details are refined by hand.Colors are mixed and painted by hand.Then the piece is kiln-fired into ceramic.
There is no file that automatically becomes your sculpture. Someone has to sit down, study your pet, and make it.
HANDMADE DOESN’T MEAN PHOTOGRAPHICALLY PERFECT
Ceramic is not a photograph, and we don’t pretend it can reproduce every single hair.
Clay, paint, and kiln firing all leave small variations from one piece to another.That is part of handmade ceramic.What we focus on instead are the features that create recognition:the proportions, posture, markings, ears, face, and overall character of your pet.
Our goal is not to fool you into thinking it’s a photograph. Our goal is for you to look at the sculpture and know exactly who it is.
